Mackenzie's Pleasure: I bought this years ago as a paperback (along with A Game of Chance) and I LOVED it. I read it and re-read it and I have searched and waited for it to be available on kindle and finally here it is!

Zane Mackenzie is a SEAL and has to rescue Barrie Lovejoy who has been kidnapped. During the rescue, they are forced to hide out together and they forge a bond. The story is fast paced and believable and just plain well written!

Mackenzie's Magic: I do not have the same love for this one. If I were reviewing it alone it would be 4 stars maybe 3. Maris Mackenzie wakes up in a hotel room with Mac with no memory of how she got there. The relationship is just too quick, it doesn't feel natural or believable. It's a decent read but after reading the other books in the series I expected more from this one. Still worth the read just not my favorite.

Two tales of members of Howard's Mackenzie family. The first story (Zane's) is more developed; it was originally released as a stand-alone volume. The plot is a little predictable...strong hero protecting vulnerable woman, with the inevitable "falling in love." The characters are fairly well-developed and engaging. The second story (Maris') was originally part of a multi-story anthology, so is shorter and faster-paced. I didn't enjoy it as much; the plot was skimpy and the "bad guys" are never really developed.
Linda Howard is one of the best story tellers I've ever read. I've been reading her books since the 1980's. This book can only be heralded as another great success. I've never read a bad book from Linda. I keep rereading them. For me they are as entertaining the 3rd or 4th time around as the first. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
'Mackenzies's Heroes' has one of my very favorite Linda Howard books, 'Mackenzie's Pleasure'. I have re-read this book so many times, my book is falling apart. The combination of a Navy SEAL and a Society Babe works for me. Throw in terrorists, spies and an ambassador and Ms. Howard has hooked me. Mackenzie's Magic is a wonderful companion novella, which I enjoyed. I am so happy the Mackenzie series is being offered for my .
Love the MacKenzie family. Linda Howard hit it out of the park with the first MacKenzie book with Wolfe and Mary. The other books in the seires are good. You have to read them all if you liked the first one. They are her older books, but i never get tired of reading the MacKenzie Family series. They are all on my keeper shelf
Linda Howard writes about the male/female dynamic with a sure hand. The men are strong and honorable, as are the heroines. In fact, honor is at the heart of all of Ms. Howard's stories and the protagonists are true to their personal honor, no matter how tough it is. Mackenzie's Pleasure has good conflict and great passion. Zane is a man of calm decision and Barrie is a woman who thinks things through and does what she has to do, even if it means risking Zane's love. Mackenzie's Magic is not as well plotted but still very enjoyable. These are category romances so the development is less intense than Ms. Howard's single title novels, but these stories are sexy and fun to read.
I think I have read all the other books in this series years ago. This book ties all the stories together so if you never read the others you won't be lost. Of course you will want to read them all in order or not every one is a great read, funny, adventurous , nail biting and a happy ending

Mackenzie’s Pleasure is the third book in the series and I loved that the story started out being told from Wolf’s POV bringing us up to speed on Mary and all their kids. Zane is their intense son and the one most like Wolf.

Zane is a Navy Seal and Barrie is a kidnapped Ambassador’s daughter who he saves. Their attraction is strong and their chemistry even stronger. Zane will do whatever is necessary to keep Barrie safe.

Zane and Barrie are both good characters, although Barrie is a little naive and hardheaded, and stupidly places herself in danger. But luckily Zane was good at keeping her safe and had enlisted the help of his brother Chance. I’m looking forward to Chance's book also.

(2) Mackenzie's Magic - 4 Stars

Maris is the only daughter of Wolf of Mary Mackenzie. Just like her dad, she’s amazing with horses. When she discovers that someone is threatening to harm one where she works, Maris takes the horse to protect him. Only she doesn’t remember doing it and she certainly doesn’t remember how she ended up in bed with Mac, the sexy drifter who works at the ranch.

I liked both Maris and Mac, but I wished that their story was longer. I felt like we didn’t get enough time with them. I did enjoy getting to catch up with all of the Mackenzie’s at the end and am excited about reading Chance’s story next.
